The Chinese-based games publishers NetEase Games has released a series of teasers that feature images from the upcoming open-world RPG Project Mugen. It is an in-house game developed by NetEase Games’ in-house studio dubbed Naked Rain.
Alongside the demonstrations, Project Mugen also has an official website. The website is a countdown clock up to the early morning of the 24th of August. Most likely, the expansion public announcement for the game could be made on the 24th of August. Publisher NetEase is also well-known for its online projects, including MMO Revelation Online based on Chinese legends and War game Naraka: Bladepoint and mobile role-playing action Diablo: Immortal.

Based on the promotional videos released, Project Mugen will offer an open-world environment with the capability to travel in different vehicles for transportation, much like the popular video game Grand Theft Auto. The city itself has a resemblance that of the Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City, with glowing warnings and some buildings. The game also draws influences of Genshin Impact.-
There’s no specific details about Project Mugen yet, but the first teasers reveal the car moving through the city, snippets from the battles (somewhat similar to Hi-Fi Rush), and some very interesting cutscenes. The official announcement to the game’s features is anticipated to be revealed during Gamescom 2023 which will be held on the 24th of August. The game will launch for PC, PlayStation 5, iOS and Android.
