Counter-Strike Global Offensive is still breaking Steam records a decade after it was released. The popular production has been so successful that it broke the record for simultaneous players in March last year.
CSGO sets new record of 1.8 million players
SteamDB data shows that Counter-Strike Global Offensive will have 1,818,773 players on May 6, 2023. This is a record-breaking number, exceeding the previous 1.5 million users. Why is there an increase in CS: GO players? It could be because of the announcement of Counter-Strike 2 and the upcoming BLAST Paris Major.
For those who do not know, CS2, built on Valve’s Source 2 engine will offer users better server performance, improved lighting, effects, and textures. Remind yourself that this highly anticipated game will be available as a free upgrade to CS: GO. We can also say that CS: GO users will be able access this game for free.
The system requirements for CS2 are not yet known. In the next few weeks, we can expect to learn more about the new Counter-Strike.
