In the past, Nvidia unveiled the RT Overdrive mode that includes Cyberpunk 2077 “Path Tracing” technology. The RT Overdrive mode, that is even pushing the RTX 4090, is accessible today. What are the cards supported by this new technology? Let’s look at it together.
Cyberpunk 2077 enters Overdrive mode
The 1.62 patch that was released for Cyberpunk 2077 contains significant improvements, such as full Ray Tracing, “Path Tracing”, and AI-based anti-aliasing mode Nvidia. But the most noticeable aspect that the patch has is RT Overdrive feature. This mode, which activates the ray tracer at each point by increasing the visual processing in the game can dramatically increase the quality of visuals.
Based on CD Projekt Red, Overdrive mode can only be used with an absolute maximum of RTX 3090 (at 1080p 30FPS settings) and RTX 40 series (4070 Ti and up) graphic cards. Other cards that have 8GB of VRAM as well as ray tracer support will only be accessible only in the Photo Mode.
While the new mode is restricted to specific users We’d like to be sure to remind users that Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty expansion, which is scheduled to be released in the coming calendar year will also be accessible to everyone. In fact, CD Projekt Red says that it will be one of the largest DLCs released to date.
