Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, talked about everything from Starfield to rumors of new consoles in an interview to IGN. The Xbox CEO also talked about the plans to launch four exclusive games every year via first-party studios which is in line with a statement made during June, by Xbox Director for Game Studios Matt Booty.
Four exclusive gaming periods each year, which begin with Xbox
A few months ago the idea of playing four games per each year from Xbox consoles was an easy request. But, in the present, it appears to have evolved from a wish into the strategy. Spencer states that the idea is already being implemented this year. Likewise, at a minimum, four unique sports could “definitely” arrive next year.
Spencer has listed the games that were made available and will be released later this year, as follows:
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Minecraft Legends
- Age of Empires 4 (console)
Of course, it’s not important whether they’re good or not. Redfall is an example. It was a game Arkane of Xbox might wish to get rid of quickly. There are only a couple of days left to Starfield and information available so far suggests that it is excellent. The past few years, Xbox has come under criticism for not having the same number of exclusive first-party games as its competitors and, in particular, PlayStation. However, Spencer’s dedication to bring new games onto Xbox is a great thing for players. It also demonstrates that Microsoft Gaming’s attention shifts to offering more exclusive games, and also being competitive in the gaming market with rival platforms.
